ArtHouse Halton
INTRODUCING ARTHOUSE HALTON
Imagine a world without the arts - imagine no moments for creative play. The arts are not a luxury - they are essential to our emotional and social growth. They provide the tools for success by teaching us how to solve problems and about resilience and perseverance. The arts are with us from the moment we wake up to when we finally close our eyes.
Since 2009 ArtHouse has delivered a total of 997 free arts-based programs to more than 12,300 young people age 7-17 throughout Halton who have limited or no access to extra-curricular activities because cost is a barrier.
ArtHouse enriches the lives of our children and youth by using the power of the arts to unleash their creativity, nurture their well-being and help them become fully equipped with the skills necessary to succeed in our 21st century’s Creative Economy.
Our programming focuses on weekly activities at Subsidized Housing and Community Hub locations. Our kids join us for a meal; we ask them how their day went and then we launch into a program. From homework help to visual arts, from singing, drama and dance to theatre performance, from cooking and public speaking to the art of architecture, the arts are not a luxury – they are essential to the wellbeing of all humans.
We remain the only organization of its type providing 100% cost-free arts-based programs throughout Halton.
